11:58 p.m. Sunday — Autumn Shadd reported that she returned home to find someone had broken into her house on North Chestnut Street. Stolen was a jar of coins worth about $20 and a small DVD player valued at $25.1:19 a.m. Sunday — Michael Paul Jason Chute, 30, ofButler is accused of taking a Sony PlayStation 2 from the East Brady Street apartment of James Leonard. Chute is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.Sunday — Two suspects are accused in a Thanksgiving Day drug deal rip-off in the city.The case was filed after a 25-year-old Butler man about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at West North and North Washington streets flagged down a patrol officer and reported that two men in a sport utility vehicle stole money from him and drove away.The officer stopped the SUV, driven by Paul R. Hortert III, 23, of Butler, on West North Street. Dwayne R. Emerick, 23, of Butler, a passenger, is accused of failing to provide heroin that he had promised the accuser.Asearch of the vehicle, according to a police report, turned up two hypodermic needles, a metal spoon and an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin.Hortert and Emerick were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Hortert also was cited for driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.Police, meanwhile, later advised the would-be heroin buyer that officers "could not assist him with recovering (his) money," the police report said.4:42 a.m. Friday — Christopher Cicco, 36, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his SUV hit a car parked on West Cunningham Street. Police said Cicco drove away after the crash.8:43 p.m. Thursday — Adam R. Cravenor, 30, of Karns City was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 8 South.8:18 p.m. Thursday — Donna Higgins, 48, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving after her car hit the rear of a PennDOT truck on Route 8 South. Higgins, in addition to DUI, was cited for reckless driving and following too closely to another vehicle. Jeffrey Hartzell, 37, of Jefferson Township was driving the truck.State Police, Butler1:45 a.m. Sunday — Trevor G. Walker, 18, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Main Street in Butler.Sunday — Three people were arrested for drunken driving on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township during roving DUI patrols conducted between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday. In all, police stopped 31 vehicles and issued three traffic tickets and 23 warnings. One person also was cited for underage drinking.5:30 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Ashley B. Rosen, 18, of Wexford hit a guardrail after sliding off snow-covered Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Police said Rosen faces a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.5:27 p.m. Saturday — Christine A. Smith, 45, of New Castle lost control of her pickup truck on ice-covered I-79 in Jackson Township and collided with an SUV driven by Donald Lippert, 25, of Pittsburgh. Police said Smith was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:40 p.m. Saturday — Acar driven by Kelli M. Bowser, 20, of Cadogan, Armstrong County, skidded off snow-covered I-79 in Lancaster Township and slammed into a guardrail. Police said Bowser was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:29 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by James G. Wagner, 36, of Montoursville, Lycoming County, spun out on an icy patch and struck an embankment along Route 38 near Spillway Lane in Oakland Township. Police said Wagner, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, was cited for a lane violation.3:34 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Tyler D. Bartley, 19, of Clintonville, Venango County, struck a pickup parked on Harrisville Road in Cherry Township. Police said Bartley was cited for a lane violation.3:25 p.m. Saturday — An SUV driven by Brenda Panzella, 41, of Connellsville, Fayette County struck a guardrail on I-79 in Lancaster Township. Police said Panzella was cited for driving too fast for conditions.9:43 a.m. Saturday — Meghan Marie McAnallen, no age given, of Center Township was arrested for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Route 308 in Center Township.12:30 p.m. Friday — Kathleen E. Wentworth, 71, of Butler was hurt when her SUV struck an embankment after spinning off snow-covered I-79 in Muddy Creek Township. Wentworth, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Friday — An unknown thief stole three outgoing pieces of mail left inside a mailbox at a Holyoke Road home in Center Township.Thursday — Travis Sutton reported that someone stole a Nintendo Wii video game system after breaking into his home on Highview Lane in Washington Township. The burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.2 p.m. Tuesday — An unidentified vehicle struck a mailbox along Chestnut Drive in Center Township and did not stop after the accident.

4:39 p.m. Saturday — Acar driven by James R. Hepler, 66, of East Brady slid off Pine Street in East Franklin Street, hitting a shrub at a home along the road. Police said Hepler was cited for a lane violation.

6:14 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven Amber R. Lind, 21, of Lewisburg, Union County, and Natalee Conway, 37, of Grove City collided on George Junior Road in Pine Township. Police said Lind was cited for a lane violation.2:08 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Edward Gagliardo, 47, of Wadsworth, Ill., struck a deer on Route 208 in Springfield Township.Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a large number of tools from a contractor's van parked at the Comfort Inn on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township. MPE Machine Tools of Corry, Erie County, owns the property that was stolen between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.Wednesday — Police filed drunken driving and other charges against Julie Yurchak, 21, of Erie stemming from a Nov. 28 crash on I-79 in Liberty Township. The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. when Yurchak lost control of her minivan and left the road, rolling over and hitting numerous trees.Yurchak, who was treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries, is charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, a lane violation and not wearing a seat belt.
