The Butler County Dairy Promotion Team will hold a tea at 1 p.m. Tuesday at North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Butler Church Road, Chicora, for young women who would like to promote the dairy industry
Aspiring competitors for the 2016-2017 Butler County Dairy Princess should attend. They must be between ages 16 and 24 and have a connection to the dairy industry.

ZELIENOPLE — Garden expert and author Gwen Lutz will speak from 9:30 a.m. to noon April 30 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 215 N. Main St.
She will discuss shade gardening and perennial basics. There will be a question-and-answer session, a book signing, brunch and door prizes.

The Cookie Salak Memorial Scholarship Benefit Concert will be at 7 p.m. May 1 at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Parish, 125 Buttercup Road.
This free concert will feature the St. Fidelis Parish Choir, Butler County String Symphonette and guest soloists.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will host a community trunk sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 7 at the Masonic Shelter in Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.

NAMI Pa. Butler County will sponsor a mental health walk beginning at 11 a.m. May 7 at Diamond Park.

[naviga:h3]Academy to hold auction[/naviga:h3]
Butler Wesleyan Academy will host an auction at noon, May 7, at the school building behind the church, 590 Protzman Road.
Items at a variety of prices will be auctioned and may include furniture, themed baskets, hunting equipment, small kitchen and household items, playground equipment, and more. Other items will be sold from tables. The event will have baked goods and a snack bar.
