9:44 p.m. Monday — Kevin M. Victor, 30, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at his home on the 400 block of Franklin Street.

The victim told officers that Victor head-butted her while they were in her vehicle, police said. He apparently became angry when he found shorts in her vehicle, according to court documents, and he “does not allow her to wear shorts.”

He was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

3:02 a.m. Sunday — It wasn't easy, but police caught John C. Kelly, 37, of Butler after they said he fled officers trying to arrest him for having had too much to drink.

Police were initially called to North Main Street to look for Kelly, who was reported to be walking drunk. Officers found him in the area, but he would not stop for them. Instead, according to court documents, he “walked swiftly away.”

He made his way onto Center Avenue, where police caught up to him. He appeared intoxicated, police said. When advised he was under arrest for public intoxication, he allegedly ran off and onto the tracks of a private rail yard.

Kelly allegedly eventually went down an embankment and walked into a creek, telling police they weren't going to arrest him. But they did.

Police noted that the defendant was impaired “to the point that he was falling down in the creek.”

He is charged with obstructing the administration of law or other government function, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, defiant trespass and public drunkenness.

Saturday — Thomas J. Downing, 35, of East Butler allegedly stole a Sony PlayStation 4 video game console, valued at $350, from a home on the 700 block of South Main Street.

Downing is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of theft.

5 p.m. June 7 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jeanne D. Wilson, 84, of Butler struck a car on Ridgemont Drive and Route 422 in Franklin Township. Chad A. Cutchall, 33, of New Castle was the other driver. No one was injured, but both vehicles had to be towed.
