9-23 months for drug distribution

Michael Hutchinson
Suspect nabbed in task force raid

A Butler man was sentenced to county jail Thursday, after being charged in August with drug distribution.

Michael L. Hutchinson, 22, was sentenced to 9 to 23 months in Butler County Prison by President Judge Thomas Doerr. He was given 263 days time served credit and ordered to pay court costs. He will be paroled once a parole plan is in place.

Doerr also ordered Hutchinson's parole be followed by 2 years of county probation and ordered him to complete any recommended counseling from the Butler County Adult Probation Office.

Hutchinson pleaded guilty May 1 to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

The Butler County Drug Task Force initially charged Hutchinson with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. The remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea.

The incident arose after Hutchinson was found at an apartment that was raided during a narcotics trafficking investigation.
