Butler Police10:18 p.m. Monday — An out-of state woman landed in jail on drug charges following a traffic stop on Center Avenue. Police said they caught Jill P. Zarnick, 46, of Arlington, Wash., with suspected marijuana and a marijuana pipe after the car she was riding in was stopped for having an expired registration sticker.Zarnick, who is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, was placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.Police, meanwhile, cited Paul Stamp, 27, of Saxonburg, who was driving the car, with having the expired registration sticker.6:30 p.m. Thursday — Raymond White, 57, of Butler is accused of hit-and-run after backing his car into another vehicle in the parking lot at 600 N. Main St. The owner of the other vehicle told police that White drove off after claiming he had to get his insurance card.White promised to return but didn’t, according to a police report. Officers tracked him down on Tuesday.
Butler Township Police2 p.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Denese Wiefling, 48, and Julianne Monteleone, 19, of Butler collided at Route 8 south and Bean Street. Monteleone later went to Butler Memorial Hospital after complaining of pain.
Grove City PoliceMonday — Someone stole a blaze orange gym bag from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Edgewood Avenue. The theft happened between Thursday and Monday.Monday — A black Motorola flip phone was turned in to police. The owner can claim the phone at the police station.Friday — A purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of McConnell Street. The theft occurred between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:05 a.m. Friday.Jan. 16 — Amanda Renea McCoy, 27, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at West Main and Breckenridge streets.Jan. 15 — Police cited Thomas M. Gaus, 42, for violating the borough’s junk vehicle ordinance at his home in the 100 block of West Poplar Street.Jan. 11 — An unknown thief stole a package from a woman’s mailbox in the 300 block of College Avenue. The contents of the package, taken between 10:20 a.m. and noon, totaled $40.Jan. 6 — Several undisclosed items were stolen in a daylight burglary at a home in the 500 block of Oak Hill Drive.State Police, ButlerJan. 15 — Two Honda generators were stolen from a construction site at the Oneida Valley Dam in Oakland Township. The generators, owned by G.M. McCrossin Inc. of Bellefonte, Centre County, were taken between Jan. 10 and 15.
State Police, Franklin2:50 p.m. Tuesday — William D. Logue, 53, of St. Petersburg was hurt when the car he was driving sideswiped one tree and struck a second tree after sliding off ice-covered Route 38 in Richland Township, Venango County. Logue, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Clarion Hospital with unknown injuries.
State Police, Kittanning6:55 p.m. Thursday — Chad T. Bowser, 18, of Worthington lost control of his pickup truck when a front wheel came off on Route 28 south of Cadogan Slatelick Road in South Buffalo Township. The truck left the road and traveled about 180 feet on the east side shoulder before coming to a stop.7:58 p.m. Jan. 15 — A Parker couple was hurt when their speeding car crashed into an embankment and rolled over on Route 68 just east of Kaylor Frogtown Road in Bradys Bend Township.Layne D. Kriebel, 26, the driver, was thrown out of the car. A medical helicopter later flew him to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh with serious injuries.His passenger, Sennie A. Northime, 27, was taken to ACMH Hospital near Kittanning with moderate injuries and later transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
