Woman arrested for alleged stabbing at transit authority
Butler police arrested a city woman after she allegedly attacked a man with a knife Tuesday afternoon at the Butler Transit Authority.
The suspect, 25-year-old Hilary Lynette Knisely, still was wielding the knife in one hand and holding the door shut with the other when officers got to the building on East Cunningham Street about 3 p.m., police said.
She eventually dropped the 2-inch straight-blade knife at the officers’ command, according to court documents.
Knisely was arrested. Once inside, police found two people who were in the building hiding from her.
Later, police located the alleged victim, Ryan Wilson, 24, of Butler, who was bleeding from a stab wound in his right hand. Wilson was treated at the scene and released.
Witnesses told police that Knisely was armed with a knife when she appeared at the transit authority and confronted Wilson, document said.
She allegedly told him, “Give me my phone or I’m gonna stab you,” according to a police affidavit.
A struggle ensued at the transit authority building, police said, where Knisely stabbed Wilson.
Knisely was arraigned Wednesday on felony charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats, and a misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment.
She was placed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail following arraignment. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 14
