Monday — Police arrested Cory J. Hennessy, 21, of Butler one day after a suspected case of domestic assault. Hennessy is accused of grabbing 18-year-old Dakota Martinez of Center Township by the throat and choking her about 5:30 a.m. Sunday as the couple were in a vehicle near the YMCA on North Washington Street.Martinez told officers that she struggled to get away from the defendant and get out of the vehicle, according to a police report. She said she ran to a parking lot at West Pearl and Main streets before Hennessy caught her and pushed her back into the vehicle.Hennessy, who is charged with simple assault, is free on $1,500 bail.

12:20 p.m. Friday — Jeffery J. Pajer, 40, of Butler allegedly gave false information to police after a traffic stop at Route 308 and Stoney Run Road in Center Township. Pajer is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, driving with a suspended license and speeding.
