7:22 a.m. Wednesday — Lori Ann Petanovich, 22, of Butler was arrested on several warrants. But her problems got worse, police said, when she was taken to the Butler County Prison.Prison officers searched her purse, according to a police report, and found two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, evidence of marijuana and an oxycodone tablet.Petanovich was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.

Tuesday — Holly Lynn Abbott, 37, of Butler was arrested for violating a protection from abuse order following a reported domestic dispute at a Meridian Road home in Renfrew. Police said Abbott was arraigned on a charge of indirect criminal contempt, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.

5:40 p.m. Tuesday — A railroad crossing arm was damaged in a traffic mishap on Erie Street.The accident happened when Shawn Barnes, 36, of Mercer attempted to turn onto South Center Street while driving a truck towing a 53-foot trailer.Police said the railroad crossing lights came on and the crossing arm came down between the truck and trailer which resulted in the crossing arm being bent down.

Sunday — An unknown thief overnight stole a digital camera, purse, prescription medication and a small amount of money from two unlocked vehicles in Chicora.2:51 a.m. Jan. 17 — A car driven by Gabriel L. Somple, 19, of Butler struck a tree along Route 173 near Rocket Drive in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Somple was cited for a lane violation.

3:34 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Clayton E. Rhodes, 78, of Rimersburg and a pickup truck driven by Arnold J. Reedy, 59, of Parker collided at Route 58 and Whitmer Road in Licking Township. Police said Rhodes was cited for a stop sign violation.
