UPMC hosts free live virtual event about 'Winter Blues'
UPMC is hosting a live virtual event at 11 a.m. on Friday on seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and other forms of depression.
The public is invited to learn about the signs, symptoms and causes of depression and how seasonal changes can impact mood.
The presentation is free. Dr. Lawson Bernstein, a UPMC board-certified psychiatrist, will host the discussion.
Registration is available at UPMC.com/VirtualEvents.
Once registered, participants will be sent a confirmation email with access to view the virtual presentation.
SAD is a subset of depression that occurs most often in the winter months.
It can be more than a bad case of the “winter blues,” sometimes leading to serious depression.
