7 city streets scheduled for summer paving
Butler Redevelopment Authority approved two paving contracts Thursday.
Wiest Asphalt Products and Paving will be paid $172,119 to pave Morton Avenue, Grant Street, Ritter Avenue, Wilkins Avenue, Hettie Way, Pepper Street and Marvin Street.
The work will begin this summer.
Butler School District requested that Morton Avenue, which will be paved from the Pittsburgh Road intersection to the city line, not be affected until after school lets out June 6, said Veronica Walker, the authority's acting executive director.
The authority also approved a $31,621 contract with Mahoning Builders to replace numerous curb ramps on the city's South Side.
The contracts will be covered with a Community Development Block Grant through Butler County. Each contract was awarded to the lowest bidder.
