#1 Cochran to rebrand Main Street operation
Butler County Ford on South Main Street, which has been operating for more than a century, was acquired by #1 Cochran, the new owner announced Wednesday.
The Main Street mainstay will be rebranded as #1 Cochran Ford, and Rob Cochran, CEO of #1 Cochran, said in a statement that the company plans to construct a nearby showroom and service center within two years.
Terms of the sale were not announced.
Butler’s dealership will be Cochran’s second Ford franchise, according to the company, which now has 29 franchises selling 18 brands. It is also the company’s fourth location in Butler County.
“After much consideration, I felt it was time to pass the torch,” said Butler County Ford owner Cathy Glasgow. “#1 Cochran is a tremendous organization that, like us, is family owned and operated and truly cares about their customers. This is going to be very good for local Ford buyers.”
Cochran said the company’s planned new facilities will coincide with Ford’s push to increase production.
“As Ford continues to ramp up its EV and traditional engine businesses, we plan to give customers a best-in-class buying and ownership experience from an all-new, leading-edge facility,” Cochran said.
Butler County Ford has been selling vehicles since 1918 — it was then the McIntyre Motor Co. — and incorporated as the Butler County Motor Co. in 1923.
