Butler Police5:06 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Betty Stahl, 55, of Butler struck a car parked on Fifth Street. Stahl told officers she lost control of the her car when the brakes failed, according to a police report.9:16 a.m. Monday — A minivan driven by Paz Q. Eury, 35, of Butler traveled off North Monroe Street and ended up on an embankment. Eury told police the crash happened when she put the van in gear and it took off, a report said.Butler Twp. Police1:02 p.m. Sunday — Doug Campbell, 56, was cited for a burning violation after they found a fire at his home on New Castle Road. He is accused of burning on a Sunday.4:10 p.m. Friday — A 14-year-old girl was caught with a knife in her purse at Butler Intermediate High School. Police cited the girl, who they did not identify, with disorderly conduct.11:20 a.m. Thursday — Ashley Frenchak, 24, of Butler was nabbed allegedly shoplifting $103 in merchandise at the Walmart in Butler Commons. Police said a search of Frenchak's purse turned up two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin. She is charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Grove City Police1:45 a.m. Saturday — Michael D. Grossman, 39, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Liberty Street. Police also cited Grossman for not using his turn signals.Friday — A Hewlett-Packard laptop computer was reported stolen from under a bench near a door at the intramural room in the Physical Learning Center.10:34 a.m. March 21 — Rory Donaldson, 24, of Grove City was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police found him asleep at the wheel at Lincoln and Madison avenues. Police also cited Donaldson for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Harrisville Police12:58 a.m. March 27 — Erik K. Dubois, 24, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the 200 block of Main Street.
State Police, KittanningSunday — Two unknown masked intruders broke into the Lenape Heights Golf Course clubhouse office in Ford City and stole a large safe that contained about $4,700. The burglars used a flat-bed utility golf cart to haul away the safe.Police said they later found the cart abandoned in an open field near the golf course.
State Police, Mercer10 p.m. Saturday — A suspected drunken driver caused a two-vehicle collision that left four people hurt in Springfield Township.Police arrested Patsy Tomasetti, 22, of New Castle for suspicion of driving under the influence after her sport utility vehicle struck an SUV driven by Jenette Armentrout, 38, of Mercer at Route 19 and Leesburg Station Road.Both drivers and Christopher W. Burg, 23, of New Castle, a passenger in Tomasetti's vehicle, and a 13-year-old Mercer girl, a passenger in Armentrout's vehicle, all suffered unknown injuries.Armentrout, the girl and Burg were taken to Grove City Medical Center.11 a.m. Saturday — William P. Devereaux, 44, of Sandy Lake was arrested for suspicion of DUI at George Junior Road and Route 58 in Pine Township.
