A new state program is seeking nominations of professionals, volunteers and residents from Pennsylvania who have made a significant impact in protecting children.

A press release from the state Family Support Alliance and the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union said that child abuse can be prevented if all residents are committed to keeping children safe.

The two entities created the “PA Blue Ribbon Champion for Kids” program to award Pennsylvanians who have protected a child from abuse of any kind.

“We want to shine a spotlight on our everyday heroes who look out for the best interests of our children,” said Angela Liddle, President and CEO of the PFSA.

The winners will be recognized by the PFSA and the PSECU at an awards ceremony and rally for children on April 5 at the State Capitol in Harrisburg.
