Monday — Police charged Christopher Spears, 50, and Jonathan Barger, 23, both of Butler with stealing angle ties that were in a fenced-in area owned by the Butler and Pittsburgh Railroad near Kittanning Street. Officers caught the men red-handed, according to a police report.Both men are charged with theft, conspiracy, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass. Spears also is charged with possessing instruments of crime and criminal mischief.8:18 p.m. Sunday — Charmaigne Tack, 26, and William Stuteville, 22, were arrested after an altercation during a domestic dispute inside and outside their home on Main Street in Lyndora.The couple is charged with simple assault and harassment. Tack also is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Both suspects were arraigned on charges and placed in Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail each.6:11 p.m. Friday — Vincent Lee Nielsen, 43, of Butler was arrested on charges he violated a woman's protection from abuse order after police were called for a domestic dispute at a home in the 200 block of Zenith Road.Nielsen was gone when officers got there; however, according to a police report, they learned that Nielsen had been evicted from the home earlier in the day after Genevieve Carr obtained an emergency PFA against him.State police later found the suspect. He was arraigned for the PFA violation and on a charge of simple assault, and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Thursday — Four wheels and tires from a 2010 GMC struck were stolen overnight in the lot of Butler Pre-Owned Auto Sales on Route 8 south. The wheels and tires were for sale at the lot. The tires are Goodyear Eagle LS-2 with aluminum rims.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-285-9600, or 911.

Sunday — Daniel Bergstrom, 53, was arrested on a felony assault charge after he allegedly attacked his 22-year-old daughter during a domestic dispute at their Woodhaven Drive home. Bergstrom is accused of hitting the suspected victim in the face and grabbing her by the throat.The defendant, who is charged with aggravated assault, is free on $3,000 bail.

11:30 p.m. Saturday — An unidentified green, older model green Dodge Caravan backed into a parked black Honda Civic in the parking lot of Leisure Time Laundry on West Main Street. The unknown driver of the van did not stop after the crash.Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Sept. 25 — Two men broke into a vehicle at a home in the 100 block of Edgewood Avenue. The owner, however, spotted the would-be theft and stopped the suspects. Nothing was taken.Police released no other information about the case, which they said remains under investigation.
