Thursday — Police charged Cola Hazlett, 23, of Butler with theft, accusing her of stealing $400 from a Butler man's wallet that was in his car about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 2. Charles Arblaster, the owner, was inside a city pizza shop when the wallet was taken.

9:21 p.m. Wednesday — Kristy D. Prycl, 36, was arrested after she allegedly lied to police in reporting her 5-year-old son was missing from their Sunnyhill Drive home.Prycl reported that the boy had wandered away while she was out walking the dog, according to court documents. The report sent officers and a police canine out searching the area.Investigators said they later learned the boy was with Prycl's mother in northern Allegheny County, and that the defendant knew he was there.Police arrested Prycl, who they suspected was intoxicated. But after being handcuffed, she allegedly pulled away from officers and had to be restrained.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned the suspect on charges of false reports to police, resisting arrest and public drunkenness. Following arraignment, she was placed in Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

Wednesday — A boy's BMX bike was turned in to Grove City Police. The owner can claim the bike by calling police at 724-458-7925.

Thursday — A 17-year-old Butler boy is accused of stealing a bicycle Aug. 20 or 21 from a Chicora Road home in Summit Township. The boy, who authorities did not identify, allegedly sold the bike to another youth, where police found it.Thursday — Police charged Dennis Buccigrossi, 56, of Pittsburgh with drunken driving, stemming from a traffic stop at 11:26 p.m. Aug. 27 on Route 8 just south of Benbrook Road in Center Township. In addition to driving under the influence, Buccigrossi is charged with disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Thursday — Police reported that someone around the end of July found an acoustic guitar in the East Butler area. The guitar was turned in to police. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-284-8100.Monday — An unknown thief stole about $9,000 worth of jewelry from a home on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. The theft happened between May 8 and Monday.
