Monday — Police charged a Butler woman in connection with a minor, non-reportable traffic accident on Sept. 11 at West Campbell and South Jackson streets.Linda Harris, 52, of Butler is accused of giving a fake name and bogus vehicle registration and insurance information to the other driver, following the collision.Police said Harris is charged with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle, giving false information and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.Thursday — Police charged Cola I. Hazlett, 23, and her boyfriend, Jamie L. Pannell, 30, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, with leaving their 1-year-old child unattended following a domestic dispute at Hazlett's home in the Greenview Garden Apartments.The couple is accused of attacking one another, after which Pannell went to the police station to report the assault while Hazlett went to her mother's home on West North Street, according to court documents.The manager at Greenview Garden Apartments later called police to report that the couple's child was left alone in Hazlett's apartment, a police affidavit said.Police arrested Hazlett on charges of child endangerment and simple assault. She was arraigned on those charges and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.Pannell is wanted on an arrest warrant for the same charges as Hazlett.
Monday — Police charged Ryan Chute, 24, of Gibsonia with driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop about 10:50 p.m. Sept. 7 on McCalmont Road. Penn Township police assisted and stopped Chute's car.6:14 p.m. Sunday — A 16-year-old Butler boy was caught shoplifting shotgun shells from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. The boy was cited for retail theft.5:51 p.m. Saturday — Eric Turner, 19, of Lyndora is accused of shoplifting about $130 worth of merchandise from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Turner is charged with retail theft.8:04 a.m. Friday — Eric Kradel, 28, of Butler was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving rear-ended a triaxle dump truck at Route 8 South and Hansen Avenue. Kradel, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.The crash closed Route 8 southbound for about 30 minutes. Police said Kradel was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and a seat belt violation. Donald Slagle, 56, of Worthington, Armstrong County, was driving the dump truck.
12:24 a.m. Monday — Michael R. Pflugh, 28, and Jessica J. Lackey, 27, both of West Sunbury were arrested after they allegedly assaulted one another during a domestic dispute at a Valley Road home in Concord Township. Pflugh and Lackey were arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail each.Monday — An unknown thief stole 88 feet of copper cable from Riverview Homes on New Castle Road in Franklin Township. The property, valued at $264, was taken between Saturday and Monday.The theft was the second at the same business in less than a week. Stolen Thursday or Friday were 175 feet of copper cable. Additionally, a pickup truck there was broken into, and assorted tools taken.Among the stolen tools was an 8-inch Dewalt miter saw, 10-inch table saw, two pry bars, a hammer and 100-foot tape measure. In all, the property taken in the earlier theft is worth $1,310.4 p.m. Sunday — Paula Hindman, 39, of Eau Claire was hurt when a pickup truck rear-ended the car she was driving on Route 38 in Washington Township. Hindman, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said Elizabeth Ragan, 61, of Chicora, who was driving the pickup, was cited for careless driving.1:30 a.m. Saturday — Dwaine M. Hans, 34, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Bonniebrook and Herman roads in Summit Township.11 a.m. Friday — Leaann Myers, 48, of Butler was hurt when a vehicle struck the car she was driving on Route 38 just north of Thorn Drive in Oakland Township. Myers, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.Police said the other driver, Wayne H. McCormick, 37, of Cabot, was cited for careless driving. Myers, according to a police report, was cited for driving without a license.2:26 a.m. Sept. 10 — Shawn M. Wedlock, 36, was arrested for suspicion of DUI following a reported domestic dispute at his Plateau Street home in Connoquenessing Township. Police said they stopped Wedlock after he allegedly assaulted a 35-year-old Renfrew woman and then fled his home.A police report described the suspect as “highly intoxicated.” In addition to DUI, he faces a charge of harassment as well as unspecified traffic violations.
Monday — Police charged a New Castle man with stealing electric motors from Berner Industries on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The motors were taken between Sept. 19 and Friday.The suspect, Jesse Paul Myers, 28, is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
