Butler PoliceTuesday — Derrick Lee Jaques, 28, of Butler was arrested on charges he groped the buttocks of a 17-year-old girl and made sexually explicit comments toward her Sept. 30 at the Greenview Gardens apartment complex.Jaques was arraigned on charges of indecent assault and harassment, and he was released on his own recognizance.
Butler Twp. Police3:50 p.m. Monday — Christine Petrarulo, 27, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting 20 items of merchandise worth a combined $113.64 from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Petrarulo is charged with retail theft and trespass.3:38 a.m. Monday — Ricardo J. Cantera, 26, of Portersville was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he left a party at a Route 8 south motel.4:28 a.m. Sunday — Dylan S. Tack, 20, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 422. Police said they also cited Tack for careless driving.In addition, two of Tack’s passengers, 16 and 17 years old, were cited for underage drinking.3:58 a.m. Sunday — Joshua Basham, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on New Castle Road at the Sheetz store. Police said they also cited Basham for public drunkenness.6:30 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by a Butler teenager and Lynsay Stewart, 34, of Butler collided at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road. Police did not identify the youth, who is 17 years old.Friday — Police filed drugged driving and other charges against Sandra Sassone, 55, of Butler stemming from a crash at 4:26 p.m. Oct. 25 at South Duffy and Evans City roads.Sassone allegedly drove away after her car struck another vehicle. Police later found Sassone on Acre Avenue.She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, careless driving and failing to give information after an accident.
State Police, ButlerNov. 5 — Jill E. Claire, 58, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence stemming from a 7 p.m. Oct. 29 crash on Route 528 in Connoquenessing Township. In addition to DUI, she is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and damaging property by vehicle.Oct. 30 — Numerous metal pieces were stolen from the JSP Inc. facility on East Brook Lane in Summit Township. The theft happened between Oct. 17 and 30.Oct. 17 — Police charged Robert J. Osselborn, 41, of Butler with failing to return a sport utility vehicle that he borrowed from Hauhinco Trading, a Forward Township business, on Oct. 5. Osselborn is wanted on an arrest warrant for a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle.Oct. 15 — Police filed drug charges against Cole V. Hutchinson, 18, of Harrisville after he was found Oct. 9 at the Waste Management landfill in Clay Township with suspected marijuana. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
State Police, MercerTuesday — Three long guns and a television were stolen in a burglary at a home on Old Mercer Road in Springfield Township. The break-in happened between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.Tuesday — A 23-inch Vizio flat-screen TV and several pieces of jewelry were stolen in a burglary at a Creek Road home in Springfield Township. The stolen property, taken between 10:30 and 11:45 a.m., is worth $600.Monday — An unknown thief stole a black metal mailbox on Millburn Road in Springfield Township. The mailbox, valued at $110, was taken between Friday and Monday.
