3:24 p.m. Thursday — Richard A. Hilins III, 21, is accused of assaulting his mother, 44-year-old Cynthia Hilins, and sister, 25-year-old Angela Hilins, at the family's Slagle Avenue home. Police said the defendant ran into the woods before officers got to the home. He is charged with simple assault.8:20 p.m. Wednesday — Adam M. Anderson, 19, of Slippery Rock was caught allegedly shoplifting four necklaces worth a combined $240 from the Kmart store in Pullman Square. Police said he fled the store but later was arrested. He is charged with retail theft.

5:35 p.m. Wednesday — Two Kittanning women were hurt in a two-car rear-end crash on Route 422 just west of Gault Hill Road in North Buffalo Township. The drivers, Nicole J. Hilton-Dopson, 22, and Beverly V. Black, 68, were taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with minor to moderate injuries; neither was wearing a seat belt. Police said Hilton-Dopson was cited for careless driving.12:30 a.m. Wednesday — Jeffrey Adams, 29, of Templeton was arrested after allegedly violating a 49-year-old Templeton woman's protection from abuse order at a home on Allegheny Avenue in Pine Township, Armstrong County.
