The Butler County Board of Commissioners reminds residents the penalty period for county property tax payment has been postponed until Dec. 1 due to the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

The county extended the face value period from June 30 to Nov. 30, which postpones the 10 percent penalty phase until December.

The resolution is only in effect for 2020 property taxes.

Most of the county’s 57 municipalities approved similar resolutions for municipal property taxes.

Property owners with questions regarding their municipal taxes should contact their respective township or borough office.
