A Slippery Rock woman arrested on two warrants in Butler was later found with drugs while being booked into the Butler County Prison, authorities said.

City police on Friday said they found 37-year-old Sarah R. Snodgrass following a traffic stop about 1:30 a.m. on Broad Street. Officers learned that she was wanted for a pair of bench warrants.

Both warrants were issued Oct. 3 after she failed to appear at hearings in separate cases of misdemeanor drug possession and drugged driving in Butler.

Police searched her car following Friday's traffic stop and found two crack pipes and a syringe, according to court documents. She denied having any drugs on her.

Police Sgt. Ben Spangler said Snodgrass was taken to the county prison for the warrants. A body search of her, according to a police affidavit, turned up crack cocaine and two crack pipes.

She was arraigned on a felony charge of possession of contraband by an inmate and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Snodgrass is being held in the prison on $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing was not immediately scheduled.
