A woman already accused of threatening Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger is now facing a new charge.

Brittany M. Hartos' latest targets, authorities said, were four employees with the county's Victim Outreach Intervention Center.

Butler police Monday charged her with harassment, a third-degree misdemeanor.

Hartos, 26, of Irwin, Westmoreland County, according to court documents, repeatedly communicated “vulgar calls” and “implied threats of violence” toward Linda Strachan, executive director of VOICe, and her three colleagues.

She also threatened to file formal complaints and civil lawsuits against the employees.

In all, police said, the defendant between April 23 and Sept. 26 allegedly made more than 300 harassing and threatening phone calls, voicemails, text messages and emails.

The employees Sept. 27 provided police Detective Sgt. David Villotti with an itemized list of the contacts that Hartos initiated, documents said.

They told investigators that on multiple occasions the staff asked her to cease calling or communicating to them in any way, but to no avail.

Hartos was charged by summons and a preliminary hearing is set Nov. 26.

She is free on supervised release pending trial in connection with an alleged threat she directed at the district attorney earlier this year.

She is charged in that case with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor.

State police said she called a crisis hot line on April 7 and “threatened to go to Goldinger's house and kill him.” She also is accused of threatening to go to his workplace and harm him. The National Crisis Hotline is a confidential service that provides counseling and offers resources to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.

An employee with the hot line informed police of Hartos' call and alleged threat.

Authorities said they believe she was upset at Goldinger for not prosecuting a case in which she claimed she was sexually assaulted.

She was arrested April 8 and placed in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.

On May 7, she was released on pretrial supervision with the condition that she obey the recommendations from a completed psychological evaluation.

Hartos' attorney, Victor Vouga, did not immediately return a telephone call Wednesday.

The state Attorney General's Office is prosecuting the case since the county's district attorney is the alleged victim.
