EVANS CITY — An Adams Township woman who was directed by District Judge Wayne Seibel in May to not contact those she was accused of stalking and harassing for 120 days must continue that order for 60 more days.

Carmelina Vargo, 49, of Adams Township was charged in April with stalking and two counts of harassment after an incident at the Mars Athletic Complex in which she allegedly targeted another Mars School District parent.

The complaint by Adams Township Police officer Mike Bailey said Vargo on April 13 followed the victim, Mike Wetherholt, and his son in her vehicle through the complex’s parking lot shouting “Vargos rule.”

“This is a continuing course of conduct with multiple prior incidents of harassing and stalking behavior by Carmelina Vargo against the Wetherholt family dating back to 2010,” the complaint reads.

The document also states that Vargo stared at Wetherholt in the complex’s parking lot while attempting to get his attention. When a friend of Wetherholt’s approached him to talk, the friend noticed he was shaking.

Bailey said the friend intervened and blocked Vargo’s car from following Wetherholt out of the parking lot, but Vargo followed both cars. The documents said Vargo was only thwarted when an ambulance got between the cars.

“This is an ongoing problem with Carmelina Vargo and prior reports to this department show a clear pattern of behavior demonstrated against the Wetherholt family for years,” Bailey said in his report.

Seibel said on Tuesday that Vargo had not violated the order in the past 120 days.

Her attorney, Michael Pawk, could not comment on the reasoning for the additional 60 days, but said he fully expected the charges to be withdrawn after that time expires.
