Butler Police
1:10 p.m. Wednesday — Two people were hurt when a sport utility vehicle driven by Evelyn Gamble, 79, of Butler Township and a car driven by Janice McMarlin, 57, of Emlenton collided at East Cunningham and South McKean streets. Both drivers, who were wearing seat belts, suffered minor injuries. McMarlin was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital. Gamble was cited for a red light violation.
8:32 a.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Cheryl Dillon, 26, of Lyndora and Barbara Marra, 49, of Butler collided at North McKean Street and WISR Way. Elaina Hardesty, 13, of Lyndora, a passenger in Dillon’s car, suffered minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. Dillon was cited for not stopping at an intersection.
Wednesday — An unknown thief overnight stole a garden hose from a home in the 900 block of West New Castle Street. The green hose is worth $25.
Butler Two Police
4:26 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Oliva Osche, 24, of Butler rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on Whitestown Road. The collision forced the SUV driven by Oliver Desantis, 66, of Butler into a car driven by Dirk Rikal, 38, of Butler. Desantis was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
4:04 p.m. Tuesday — Terri L. Malinski, 54, of Butler was hurt when the vehicle she was driving crashed and overturned, hitting a fire hydrant in the 500 block of Whitestown Road. Malinski suffered minor injuries. Traffic was detoured for about an hour following the crash.
9:51 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Sandra McGinnis, 59, of Butler struck a traffic signal pole on New Castle Road. McGinnis, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
Middlesex Twp. Police
Wednesday — Police filed drunken and drugged driving charges against 50-year-old James Zwigart Jr. of Gibsonia, stemming from an 8:20 p.m. June 25 motorcycle crash on McFann Road.
Zwigart lost control of his Harley-Davidson around a bend, traveled into a yard and was thrown off the bike. He was not wearing a helmet.
Zwigart was taken with moderate injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Police said he was given a blood test at the hospital. Results this week showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.113 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
Additionally, his blood tested positive for opiates.
Zwigart is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, driving without a motorcycle license and driving at an unsafe speed.
Grove City Police
Tuesday — Police filed criminal charges against Justin Hopkins, 24, of Grove City and Robert “Gunner” Martin, 22, of Cochranton, Crawford County, who are accused of providing alcohol to a 16-year-old in February.
Both suspects are charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor and corruption of a minor.
Hopkins and Martin are in the Mercer County Jail on unrelated charges.
5:05 p.m. Monday — A 59-year-old skinny dipper faces criminal charges after he was spotted standing naked in the middle of Wolf Creek on the Grove City College Campus near the football field.
The suspect, Ira W Ritchey III of Bethel Park, Allegheny County, is charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct.
He was arraigned on the charges and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $15,000 bail.
2:40 p.m. Monday — Jeannine Seiders, no age given, of Grove City was hurt in a rollover crash on Grace Street. Seiders lost control of the vehicle when she leaned over to pick something up.
Her car swerved, traveled over the curb and went up a set of stairs causing her vehicle to turn. Seiders, who suffered minor injuries, faces a ticket for careless driving.
Monday — An unknown thief stole a woman’s wallet after breaking into a sport utility vehicle at 311 W Main St. The suspect used a rock to break a window on the vehicle, and took the wallet, described as green with white polka dots, which contained money, the owner’s Social Security card and several credit cards.
The theft happened between 7 p.m. Sunday and 10:54 a.m. Wednesday.
State Police, Butler
Wednesday — Police filed drunken driving and other charges against Douglas B. Bartmas Jr., 20, of Butler, stemming from a one-vehicle crash about 12:25 a.m. June 2 on Old Route 422 West near Rieger Road in Franklin Township.
Bartmas is charged with driving under the influence, underage drinking, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
Wednesday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of a Ford F-250 pickup truck, and a 20-foot ski boat and trailer attached to the pickup, that was stolen April 3 from a West Slippery Rock Street home in Chicora.
The truck was found in Tarentum, Allegheny County. The boat and trailer were found in Clearfield Township.
Tuesday — Four long guns, a 40-inch, Samsung flat-screen television set, coins and numerous pieces of jewelry were stolen in a burglary at a home in the 300 block of East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township. The stolen firearms include a .32-caliber Winchester rifle; .30-06 Winchester rifle; .30-40 Krag rifle; and a .410-gauge shotgun.
The break-in happened between 9:30 a.m. Monday and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
State Police, New Castle
4:45 p.m. Wednesday — Samuel L. Hickok, 54, of Grove City was hurt when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid into the back of a car on Route 19 in Scott Township. Hickok, who was wearing a helmet, and Genevieve Bluedorn, 81, of Slippery Rock, a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries.
Bluedorn, who was wearing a set belt, was treated at Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Hickok was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
Hal A. Bluedorn, 51, of Edinburg was driving the car.
