Six Butler elementary wrestlers finished first at a 20-team tournament held by the Western Area Wrestling Association recently.

There were 345 wrestlers from Pennsylvania and Ohio involved, and 18 of 33 Butler competitors earned trophies.

In the novice division, first-place trophies went to heavyweight Greg Schultz in the 6-and-under age bracket, 90-pound Zach Giles and heavyweight Saavon Mosby in 10-under and 160-pounder Dylan Glasgow in 12-under.

In the open division, 105-pound Christian Sequete at 10-under and 95-pound Caleb Baxter at 12-under won first-place trophies.

Other trophy winners for Butler were:

Novice Division6-under: Adam Llewellyn (65 pounds) 2nd

8-under: Hunter Wroblewski (50) 3rd, Colton Spohn (55) 3rd, Cooper Baxter (60) 4th, Aaron Pisor (65) 2nd

10-under: Zach Giles (90) 1st, Zach Giles (95) 3rd, Sam Lambermont (120), 2nd

12-under: Brycen Moore (110) 4th, Matt Shultz (130) 2nd, Jackson Craig (140) 4th, Dylan Glasgow (160) 1st

Open Division12-under: Donovan Malovich (75) 2nd, Tom Greaves (100) 2nd, Jared Titley (130) 2nd

BasketballButler freshman Alec Geibel was named to the All-Shaler Tournament team recently.Geibel scored 11 points in the Golden Tornado’s 39-37, four-overtime loss to Shaler, then scored 13 in a 39-30 win over Knoch.Mark Gross scored 19 points in a 47-42 semifinal loss to Hampton.Butler finished the season at 15-8.
