12:15 p.m. Sunday — April L. Graham, 27, of Summit Township was arrested for allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Timothy Gerhold of Butler, while the couple traveled in a van on East Brady Street. Graham is charged with simple assault.10:18 p.m. Friday — Teresa Guiste, 34, of Slippery Rock was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 8 South. Police said Guiste also was cited for speeding and an open container violation.7:24 p.m. Friday — Pickup trucks driven by Brittany Hosak 18, of Butler and Scott Covert, 47, of Oakland Township collided at Pillow and Cunningham streets. Police said the accident occurred after Hosak apparently lost her brakes, swerved to avoid several cars and collided with Covert's pickup.12:41 p.m. Tuesday — Police charged two people from Pittsburgh with illegal possession of prescription drugs at Ritts Park.Charged with possession of a controlled substance are Michael Glenn Sovak, 41; and Tiffany Ann Wolfe, 25. Sovak also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving an unregistered vehicle.Police said they found Sovak carrying a syringe and crack pipe. Wolfe had three pills of suspected clonazepam, a drug prescribed for people with seizure or panic disorders, and five tablets of the anti-anxiety drug Xanax.Additionally, in the SUV, police found a syringe and two spoons in the glove box, two syringes in a tool bag, and a small plastic bag with pieces of the pill Suboxin, a prescription drug used for treatment of addiction to opiates.
3 p.m. Sunday — Six people were injured in a four-vehicle crash at Route 68 and Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township.The crash, police said, occurred when a car driven by Louis C. Barta, 34, of Cranberry Township struck a sport utility vehicle that was stopped for a red light. Leslie K. Lasota, 50, of Clinton, Pa., who was driving the SUV, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a moderate injury.The crash, meanwhile, pushed Lasota's vehicle into a minivan driven by Jennifer Burgess, 34, of Ellwood City which then pushed the van into an SUV driven by Joan M. Sorce, 44, of Renfrew.Suffering minor injuries in the crash were Barta and three of his passengers, Frank Barta, 60, Linda K. Barta, Holly C. Barta, 34, all of Cranberry Township; and Zach Lovell, 13, of Ellwood City, a passenger in the van.Police said Louis Barta was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.4:39 a.m. Sunday — Karol Mitchell, no age given, of Cranberry Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed into a ditch along Route 8 near Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township.3:45 a.m. Sunday — Katie Ross, 27, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI, police said, after she flagged down a trooper because she was lost on Route 308 in Center Township.1:40 p.m. Saturday — Chad M. Williams, 23, was arrested for allegedly punching his 15-year-old brother in the face during an altercation at their Greenhill Road home in Fairview Township. Williams is charged with simple assault.Police also cited the 15-year-old for harassment, for allegedly landing a couple retaliatory punches to the back of Williams' head.1:26 p.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Jennifer Vlassich, 35, of Karns City and a motorcycle driven by Milton C. Harris, 48, of Harrisville collided at Routes 68 and 268 in Fairview Township.Lisa Harris, 43, of Harrisville, a passenger on the cycle, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a moderate injury.
3:05 a.m. Sunday — Jerry A. White, 28, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Main and Bear streets in Worthington.
