,h3>‘Painting in the Park’ scheduled[/naviga:h3]
BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will offer “Painting in the Park” from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Alameda Park Office, 184 Alameda Park Road.
Participants will paint the Pittsburgh Pirates logo. This is an introductory painting class with instructor Sandra Maxwell for participants 12 years old and older.

BUTLER TWP — There will be night disc golf Friday on a temporary course next to the Purple Park at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.
This is the first of five night events at the park.
Registration will be from 8:45 to 9 p.m. at the Masonic Shelter. After a short players’ meeting, tee off will be at 9:30 p.m.
The event will be open to all skill levels. Equipment will be available for a fee. There will be divisions and prizes.

KARNS CITY — The Karns City Borough Building, 116 Main St., will be the site for the Safe Sitter baby-sitter’s training from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21.
The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will conduct the class for youths ages 11 to 15. The class will emphasize prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.
Registration is required and class size will be limited. Costs will include books and materials. Successful students will receive a course certificate.

BUTLER TWP — Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will participate in WQEDs “Be My Neighbor Day” from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 21.
Volunteers will plant trees and flowers, mulch and complete additional beautification jobs.
Wear clothing appropriate to the weather and comfortable, sturdy shoes. If possible, take work gloves, small and large shovels and rakes.

[naviga:h3]Painting fundraiser scheduled[/naviga:h3]
FOXBURG — The Allegheny-Clarion Valley Do Something Good Club will have a paint night fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. May 11 at Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School, 762 State Route 58.
Participants will follow artist Rachel Mortimer to create a scene on canvas.
Proceeds benefit club activities including Operation Christmas Stocking for overseas troops.
