Philip Terman

A professor from Clarion University will read poetry with accompaniment from a Grove City pianist at a church in Butler Monday.

Philip Terman, the author of six books of poetry including “What Survives” and “Rabbis of the Air,” is reading some of his work in a free concert being organized by Butler Interfaith, according to a news release.

The event is planned for 7 p.m. Monday at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 230 E. Jefferson St.

Mark DeWalt of Grove City plays piano and keyboard at various events throughout the region.

Terman teaches English and is a recurring director for the annual Chautauqua Writers’ Festival in Chautauqua, N.Y.

Light refreshments will be served.

Butler Interfaith is calling the event “Poetry Jazz and Faith.”
