Suspect waives extradition hearing
BRACKENRIDGE, Pa. — A Western Pennsylvania man accused of killing his 63-year-old neighbor before stealing her car has agreed to return to Allegheny County to answer to charges.
Jailed in West Virginia, Justin Bartlett, 25, waived his extradition hearing on Tuesday. It’s unclear when he will be brought back for arraignment in the death of Linda McGinnis and an unrelated assault case.
McGinnis was found dead in her Brackenridge home Dec. 31 with a chop wound to her head and a stab wound to her neck.
Police say Bartlett told detectives that he killed McGinnis and stole her car so he could flee to avoid prosecution in the assault case.
