William 'Bill' Henry
William “Bill” Henry, 97, of Evans City, formerly of Pittsburgh, went home to be with the Lord Saturday in his home surrounded by his loving children.
Born July 19, 1913, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Anthony and Agostina Camella Henry.
He was a World War II veteran who served his country for more than five years with the 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Division, U.S. Army. He was the recipient of numerous medals including the Purple Heart, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European-Africain-Middle Eastern Medal and the Bronze Battle Star, all of which he humbly accepted.
During the week of his passing, family and friends gathered to celebrate his life by sharing with him fond memories.
Surviving are three daughters, Robin (Roger) Clifford of Sewickley, Charmain (Carl) Schubert of Evans City and Theresa (Michael) Stanek of Evans City; a son, Anthony (Tara) Henry of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren, Christy Chioda and Michelle Metz, Laina Stanek and Micah Stanek; five great-grandchildren, Madison Raina Clifford, Kadence Lynn Metz, Alexis Ann Metz, Alivia Joy Metz and Caleb Johnathon Chioda; and two nephews, John and Bob McCracken.
Preceding him in death were two grandchildren, Raina L. Clifford and Roger “W.C.” Clifford; a great-grandson, Samuel David Chioda; and seven brothers and sisters.
