The Butler Public Library is hoping to generate $75,000 this year in a new fundraising campaign.

The library, on North McKean Street, has started its “My Library Campaign” to raise money to grow its collection of materials, building repairs and renovations, provide computers and Internet access to patrons who don't have computers and for personnel costs.

Each donation will be acknowledged with a “thank you” note and receipt for tax purposes. People who donate $100 will not be assessed fines for a year and people who donate $500 or more will also receive an ornament commemorating the library's 125th anniversary in 2019.

EVANS CITY — The Evans City Volunteer Fire Department will conducting its annual Fall Boot Drive from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday in the borough.Department members will be on Main Street collecting donations.Proceeds from the drive are used to supplement the department's general operating budget.
