George J. Queen
George J. Queen, 75, of Mount Chestnut passed away Sunday afternoon at the Saxony Health Center following a long illness.
Born Sept. 12, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Loretta Hart Queen.
A 1961 graduate of Mars High School, George took a job as an over-the-road truck driver for American Hardware. After coming off the road, he went to work at the former Armco, now AK Steel, where he retired as a millwright in the processing maintenance department.
George was a member of the North-South Skirmish Association, Moraine Conservation and Sportsmen's Association and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.
He was an avid shooter and skirmisher, once setting a record high score for 25 yard black powder revolver shooting.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Robert) Myers of Monongahela; his longtime companion, Donna; his brother, Robert (Delores) Queen of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and several grandchildren; great- grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Scullion Petrulis Queen.
