Man pleads guilty in phishing scam
PITTSBURGH — An Eastern European man accused of being part of an international e-mail phishing scheme that enabled $25 million to be stolen from banks and companies worldwide has pleaded guilty to federal charges.
Andrey Ghinkul, 31, of Moldovais scheduled for sentencing July 13.
Prosecutors allege he and others disseminated malware which infected computers of those who opened phishing e-mails and allowed the thefts.
