Shirley W. Mahan
Shirley W. Mahan, 82, of Saxonburg died Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born Sept. 6, 1927, in Mount Morris, N.Y., she was the daughter of Waldo Meryl Wiester and Bernice George Wiester.
She was the former tax collector for Clinton Township, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon, and she also belonged to the Saxonburg Lions.
She enjoyed crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are two sons, William (Diane) L. Mahan of Saxonburg and Paul (Jill) E. Mahan of Saxonburg; two daughters, Carol A. (Gary) Hines of Saxonburg and Janice (Leroy) McKinney of Saxonburg; her brother, R. Neale Wiester of Avonmore, Pa.; six grandchildren, Megan, Kevin, Michelle, Cherrie, Robert and Sasha; and two great-grandsons.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Alvin L. Mahan, who died Nov. 16, 1981; a son, David; and three brothers.
<B>MAHAN</B> — Friends of Shirley W. Mahan, who died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Brewer officiating.
