Nasim Abdallah
On Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 10:50 a.m. in the quiet of a rare sunny morning in Pittsburgh, the angels, archangels and his guardian angel surrounded Nasim Jeries Abdallah Daoud and carried him to the Heavenly Kingdom. Nasim left this Earth after almost 70 years to be with God, Our Heavenly Father, Jesus, Our Brother and Savior and the Blessed Mother of Jesus, Blessed Mary, his friend during his early morning walks.
As practicing Catholics, we believe in the Saints, Angels and Archangels and their many interventions, the Resurrection of the Body, the forgiveness of sins and the life of the world to come.
Nasim was born July 28, 1951, in the small village of Zababdeh in Palestine, The Holy Land.
Nasim was an accountant by trade with a law degree. At the age of 45, for the betterment of his beloved wife of 46 years, Hiyam; his daughters, Joyce, Jessie and Jazeel; and his son, George, Nasim gave up his career and comfort and moved to the United States in December of 1997.
Nasim was an accomplished poet, and published a book with a collection of numerous poems about his homeland and beloved mother.
Nasim is survived by his wife, Hiyam; his son, George Abdallah; his three daughters, Joyce (Michael Gaydosz), Jessie Abdallah and Jazeel Abdallah; and three granddaughters that were the joy of his life, Myah, Bella and Norah Gaydosz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jeries Daoud; his mother, Layya Daoud; his brother, Baseem Daoud; his sister, Mariam Awwad; and his in-laws, Mubada Khoury and Adeebeh Khoury.
A special thanks to Father Joe Freedy for coming in the middle of the night to administer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick; Anthony Stoltez; and the many caregivers at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
A wise person once said that God gives us a certain number of heartbeats. They can be used in anger, retaliation and hatred, or used in assistance to others, patience, understanding and even laughter. Nasim used his God-given heartbeats for the greater good of others, always putting himself last.
In closing, when we die, a part of us goes with that person, and we are never the same, but the greatest gift of love that God gives to us is the gift of grieving.
