Life-saving lessons
Michael Studeny, nurse practitioner at UPMC, teaches CPR techniques to third-graders at HIS Kids Christian School in Jefferson Township last month. Students in third and fourth grades at the private Christian school also learned about using an AED machine and performing the Heimlich maneuver. They received training from Mary Jo Gould, former registered nurse and now pastor at Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, and Studeny.
