Ella and DeWitt Maxwell

DeWitt and Ella Maxwell of Slippery Rock will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Alumni Center of Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock.

Maxwell married the former Ella Dollman on June 16, 1956, at Highland Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock.

They have five children, Carolyn Colosimo of Slippery Rock, Patty Frank of Avon Lake, Ohio, Michael Maxwell of Winchester, Va., Nancy Eckert of Leander, Texas, and Mark Maxwell of Woodbridge, Va.

They also have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Maxwell is a retired truck driver. He is a U.S. Navy veteran.

Mrs. Maxwell is a retired homemaker.
