First-graders at South Butler Primary School helped make the holidays brighter for Concordia residents. In lieu of a gift exchange, the students donated items for the residents. Then they decorated 142 bags and wrote short notes to the residents. The students assembled bags with their notes, along with one from their teachers, and added items such as small puzzle books, candy, tissues, lip balm and a holiday decoration. The packages will be delivered by the first-grade teachers.
