State police accused a Fairview Township man Monday of having child pornography.

Jeremy M. Morra, 20, of Fairview Township is free on nonmonetary bail following his arraignment on six felony charges filed by the police computer crime unit.

The investigation began early last year after police were informed of a cyber tip from Facebook that was reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, authorities said.

The tip, which was received Jan. 1, 2020, reported that a person had uploaded an image of alleged child pornography, according to police.

Investigators said an IP address in the tip eventually led to Morra's address. Police obtained a search warrant Nov. 23, during which they said electronics items were seized from the defendant's bedroom.

He was not home when police executed the search warrant, but troopers interviewed him Nov. 24 at his workplace.

“During the interview,” a police affidavit said, “Jeremy admitted to viewing (child pornography) on his electronics devices.”

A forensics examination of an Apple iPad seized in the search turned up “images, web history, search terms and bookmarks of child pornography activity,” the affidavit said, and several images of child pornography.

A separate warrant search of his cell phone allegedly found additional suspected child pornography, police said.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton on Monday arraigned Morra on one count each of disseminating child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility and four counts of possession of child pornography.

Stoughton, in setting bail, ordered the defendant to be placed on pretrial supervision and barred him from accessing the internet.

Morra's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 16.

Online court records did not list an attorney for him, and he did not immediately return a telephone call.
