Hunt helps Raiders run down Hempfield in 6-1 win

Lauren Hunt's three singles and two RBI sparked the Seneca Valley softball team to a 6-1 win over host Hempfield Tuesday afternoon.

Megan Buletko had a single, a triple and three RBI while Brittany Illingworth earned the win, pitching 3 1/3 innings.

• Vanessa Dufford and Casey Boggs each hit a home run as Mars defeated Indiana, 5-3.

Rachel Pastorek struck out nine in the complete-game victory for the Planets (2-1 overall, 1-0 in the section).

• Morgan Robinson struck out 13 batters and hit a home run in Slippery Rock's 11-5 win at Jamestown.

• Brittney Fallen singled twice and scored Moniteau's lone run in a 3-1 loss to Venango Catholic.
