Moniteau cuts down West Forest

Holly Colosimo pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking none as the Moniteau softball team routed West Forest 11-0 in six innings Thursday.

Megan Yohe had two doubles, a single, two RBI and three runs scored to lead the 10-hit attack for the Warriors (3-3).

• Meggan McGuire hit a grand slam home run to lead Freeport to a 20-1 bludgeoning of Shady Side Academy.

Madison Rotto homered and picked up the win, striking out six in three innings.

• Home runs from Brooke Hiles and Lauren Downs led a 14-hit attack as Karns City beat Redbank Valley 14-10.

• Morgan Robinson fanned 10 and Kalene Ireland had three hits, including a double, but Slippery Rock (2-3, 2-2) fell to Meadville 7-2.

Joshua Houston had 14 kills and Xavier Krause had 14 assists, but Butler dropped a marathon five-set match to Fox Chapel 18-25, 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 18-20.Anthony Lewis had 20 passes and Andrew Soldner five blocks for the Golden Tornado (3-2).The Butler JVs (4-1) downed Fox Chapel 25-14, 25-22.
