Janice Wetzel and John Fischer, both of Pittsburgh exchanged wedding vows at 1:30 p.m. May 29 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. The Rev. Jack Nanz officiated. The newlyweds greeted guests at the Lake Arthur Country Club.

The bride is the daughter of Carl and Cathy Wetzel of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Ron and Hazel Fischer of Pittsburgh.

The honor attendant was Dana Slomer of Butler. Bridesmaids included Sarah Shoup of Murrysville, Christy Rich of Pittsburgh and Katelyn Wetzel of Butler. The flower girls were Grace Slomer, Alisha Wetzel and Olivia Wetzel, all of Butler.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was Ron Smith of Pittsburgh. Ushers included Brian Bell of Pittsburgh and Michael Wetzel and Scott Wetzel, both of Butler. The ring bearer was Matthew Wetzel of Butler.

The bride graduated in 1996 from Butler High School and in 1998 from Butler County Community College. She works at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

The bridegroom graduated in 1992 from North Catholic High School and in 1995 from Community College of Allegheny County.

He works for the Allegheny County Bureau of Corrections in Pittsburgh.

The newlyweds are living in Pittsburgh after honeymooning in Las Vegas.
