Laura Kaufman of Butler and Brian Hoover of Penn Township were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. June 17 at Mars United Presbyterian Church in Mars. The Rev. John Rickloff officiated. A reception was held at Shakespeare's Restaurant.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Kaufman of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Benson and Denise Hoover of Valencia.

The honor attendant was Rachael Sondej of Valencia. Bridesmaids included Summer Kissell of Washington, Pa.; Susie Giovengo of Valencia; and Kelley Dohn of Gibsonia. The flower girl was Casey Magdinec of Valencia.

Serving his brother as best man was Ben Hoover of Valencia. Ushers included Shawn Kaufman of New York and Josh Hoover and Pete Salata, both of Valencia.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Mars High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She works as an investigator with U.S. Investigations Services in Cranberry Township.

The groom graduated in 1998 from Mars High School. He is a self-employed carpenter.

Following a honeymoon trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park, the couple is making their home in Penn Township.
