Minor injuries in crash
CONNOQUENESSING TWP — A three-vehicle rear-end crash around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday restricted Evans City Road at its intersection with Whitestown Road to one lane of travel for about two hours.
State police said the driver of a dark-colored BMW sedan travelling east along Evans City Road failed to stop for traffic stopped at the light, colliding with a light-colored Toyota SUV.
The force of the initial crash pushed the SUV into the rear of the third vehicle, a light-colored Ford sedan.
Police said the drivers from both the BMW and the Ford were uninjured while the driver and passenger of the Toyota experienced minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene by Butler Ambulance EMTs.
The Ford was driven away from the scene, but the BMW and Toyota were towed.
Butler Township firefighters directed traffic around the crash for about two hours, with the road reopening around 6:30 p.m.
State police will release a crash incident report upon completion of their investigation.
