Police looking for alleged thief
Butler police are looking for a city man who is wanted on a felony theft charge.
Jordan X. Hilliard was charged Thursday with theft, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, recklessly endangering another person and several driving misdemeanors.
He was scheduled to appear in court Friday for a preliminary hearing but when he didn’t appear, an arrest warrant was issued for him.
According to police, Hilliard stole a vehicle and he was last seen driving a 2011 gray Mitsubishi Outlander. It’s unclear if the Mitsubishi Outlander is the stolen car. Police did not respond to requests for comment.
Last year, Hilliard pleaded guilty to selling drugs. He was sentenced to 36 months in Butler County Prison, received credit for time served and was granted immediate parole.
The charges that Hilliard pleaded guilty to were the result of an incident on Feb. 25, 2017. At the time, Police were checking out a possible break-in call on West Diamond Street. They noticed Hilliard in the passenger side of an idling pickup truck in a nearby alley. Hilliard ran away and threw away bags of what they suspected was crack and heroin.
Police used a Taser and struggled with Hilliard, finally arresting him. Police later found separate baggies containing 8 grams of crack and 34 stamp bags that Hilliard allegedly tried to discard, according to court documents.
