Tim Vernick scored two first-half touchdowns as the Butler junior high football team blanked North Allegheny-Carson 35-0 Wednesday.

Vernick scored from 50 and 24 yards out after Damien Pickett opened the scoring on a 65-yard punt return.

The Tornado’s goal-line stand late in the second quarter kept the score at 21-0 at the break.

Connor Frost and Nick Provost scored from 28 and eight yards out, respectively, to close out the scoring.

Butler (4-0) will host Pine-Richland Green on Wednesday.
