Arthur Forrest Lynn
Arthur Forrest Lynn, 88, of Butler passed away Tuesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1925, in Johnstown, the son of the late Clifford E. and Myrtle (Hunt) Lynn.
Arthur was a combat wounded veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He was a member of the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church and the Summit Township Sportsman Club.
He retired in 1987 after 35 years of service at Armco.
He enjoyed hunting and woodworking and was an avid reader. His greatest joy was spending time playing and reading with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Bette L. (Turney) Lynn, who he married on Oct. 11, 1945; his four sons, the Rev. James A. (Rose) Lynn, Dennis E. (Nancy) Lynn and William D. (Linda) Lynn, all of Butler, and Richard K. (Louise) Lynn of Grove City; his 10 grandchildren; his 25 great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Joann of Florida and Helen of Washington, and his two half-brothers, Harold and Carl Lynn of Lititz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters, Dorothy Robb, Florence Bellis, Marie Phillips, and Irene Baxter, and his three brothers, Ellwyn, Don and Howard Lynn.
Lynn — Friends of Arthur Forrest Lynn, who died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church, 590 Protzman Road, Butler, with his son, the Rev. James A. Lynn, officiating. Interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.
