Butler’s seventh grade boys basketball team improved to 6-1 on the year with a 35-34 overtime win over Pine-Richland recently.

Donovan Slater led the Golden Tornado with nine points while Joel Stutz added seven. Butler hosts Shaler on Monday.

• The Butler junior high wrestling team used pins from Caleb Baxter (95 pounds), Mike Vought (105), Zack Hunka (110), Justin Johnson (185) and Nick Roth (210) to dispatch Fox Chapel 51-32 on Wednesday.

Butler held an early 33-6 lead through nine matches before the Foxes trimmed the deficit to one, 33-32, but the Tornado captured the final three weight classes.

Butler (6-3) will host the Butler Junior High Duals on Saturday.
