Knoch student awarded Good Citizenship Medal
The Christopher Gist Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution recently awarded Jonathan Baisch, a senior at Knoch High School, the Bronze Good Citizenship Medal.
The award, which includes a certificate and scholarship, is presented annually to one student out of 13 schools in Butler and Armstrong counties.
Administrators from each school are asked to nominate one candidate for the award, and the chapter then selects the most outstanding citizen.
Baisch is the son of
Arthur and Evelyn Baisch of Cabot.
He maintains perfect attendance, high academic scores and was named the Student of the Year in 2003.
He is a member of the History Club, Chemistry Club and German Club and participates in the track team, cross country team, swimming team, band and choir.
Baisch attended the Naval Academy Summer Academic Seminar in 2003.
Active in community service, he is a volunteer for the Concordia Lutheran Ministries and Black Partridge Park, is a state representative for Keystone Boys, does maintenance work at Camp Cilica and assisted with sandbagging at the Illinois River.
The award was presented during the Knoch High School senior awards program held Tuesday.
