daughter of Eugene Bergbigler of Chicora, was recently recognized as a USAA Collegiate All-American Scholar and received the USAA National Collegiate Nursing Award.

She also accepted membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was named to the National Dean's List at the University of Pittsburgh.

A 2003 graduate of Butler High School, she is the recipient of the University of Pittsburgh Alumnae Council Scholarship and the Rear Admiral Joan Engel Nursing Scholarship.

of Petrolia, son of Jack Christie and Maureen Ellenberger, has been accepted to Edinboro University for the fall 2004 semester.A graduate of Karns City High School, he is a member of the weight lifting club, Bruin Bowling Lanes Men's League, the Quarter Horses Youth organization, the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club and Foxburg Country Club.He also enjoys golf and served as an assistant coach for Karns City youth soccer.Christie plans to major in mathematics and education and participate in football and track and field.

daughter of Gary and Ruth Gombos of Butler, was recently awarded the Board of Governors tuition waiver from Edinboro University.A graduate of Butler High School, she is a forensic chemistry major at Edinboro.

The following students from Butler County were recognized during a recent honors and awards convocation at Penn State Erie, the Behrend College.Adam Elliott, Andria Katie Pegher, daughter of Ray and Debbie Pegher of Mars, is currently working as an intern at the Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania.Pegher is a senior at Saint Vincent College majoring in communication.

daughter of Bill Hankey and Janet Hankey, both of Butler, was recently inducted into the Gamma Sigma Kappa scholastic honor society at Bethany College.A junior education major, she was also inducted into the Kalon leadership society and the Kappa Mu Epsilon national mathematics honor society.
