Man allegedly pulls gun on person at car wash

Jason Armour

SAXONBURG — A Jefferson Township man accused of pulling a gun on another man washing a car near Knoch High School on Thursday was charged with felony assault by state police.

Jason Armour, 41, is facing felony aggravated assault, which involves an attempt to cause serious injury. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and harassment.

According to charging documents, state police were dispatched at 12:42 a.m. Thursday to a car wash at 783 Dinnerbell Road, across the street from Knoch High School, for a report of a man pulling a gun on the person calling 911.

“The victim related that while washing his car, a man walked up behind him carrying a handgun and pushed him up against the wall,” the documents said.

The documents said the individual in the incident was identified as Jason Armour.

After pinning the victim against the wall, Armour allegedly pulled the victim to the ground, put the gun barrel to his neck and further threatened the person.

“If I ever see you again, I'll kill you,” Armour said, according to documents. The motive for the incident was not immediately clear.

After investigating, the troopers were unable to make contact with Armour at his home, but arrested him later Thursday afternoon.

Armour was arraigned by District Judge Sue Haggerty. He was held in Butler County Prison until he posted a $30,000 bond later that day. The bond includes a no-contact clause, prohibiting Armour from contacting the victim.

Armour is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

“At this point, we're just looking at all aspects of the case,” said Armour's attorney, Justin Ketchel. “We plan to vigorously defend all of the charges.”

At the time of the incident, Armour had been free on $2,500 bail since June, when he was arrested and charged with six misdemeanors, including simple assault, stemming from a suspected domestic altercation in May.

The victim in the latest case was not involved in the previous case.

The preliminary hearing for the May incident is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 10.
